Eastside Locks represented our fourth project for student accommodation developer Alumno. The project was for the design of the student common rooms and also some communal areas such as the main reception area and lobby. We worked closely with the architects Glenn Howells Architects and the fit out contractor FF&E.

 

We initially helped developer Alumno with a series of student stakeholder sessions to ascertain what, art and design students in particular, want in their student accommodation. This student engagement continued with a live co-lab project with BA Architecture students at the Birmingham School of Architecture who produced research and concept ideas for the common rooms, and were also involved in the selection of furniture following a furniture showroom visit to various showrooms in Clerkenwell.
